Terms of Service

Last updated: June 17, 2026

By using Verata you agree to these terms. If you're under 18, you may use Verata with the involvement of a parent or guardian; if under 13, verifiable parental consent is required.

What Verata is

Verata is an organizational and analytical tool for the college-application process. It helps you build a profile, track schools and deadlines, draft your own essays, and see a data-driven, directional read on your admissions odds.

Odds are guidance, not a guarantee

Our odds, tiers, and portfolio probabilities are a transparent heuristic computed from your profile and each school's published Common Data Set figures. They are directional guidance, not a prediction or guarantee of admission. Admissions decisions are holistic and outside our control. Catalog/CDS figures are approximate — always verify against each school's official Common Data Set.

Authenticity — we never write your essays

Verata stores and analyzes your writing to help you organize and improve it, but it never generates essay text for you. The work must be your own; you are responsible for the integrity of everything you submit to colleges.

Disclaimers & liability

Changes

We may update these terms; we'll post changes here and update the date. Continued use means you accept the changes.
